Condominiums, cooperatives and townhomes, on the other hand, aside from being less expensive than single family homes, are generally newer so fewer repairs might be needed. There will be no exterior maintenance needed for they do not have a yard. However, you might have less privacy.
Next thing you need to think about is the number of stories. A single story home can easily be accessed by people with disability. If you have a member of your household who have difficulty climbing up the stairs because they are on a wheel chair or suffering from some medical conditions, you should consider getting a single story home. The thing about this type of home is that more lot area is used for living quarters. Not to mention that there are people who feels that their safety is compromised if the bedrooms are at ground level. People living in Las Vegas homes, that have more than one story, enjoy more living space. Even if there are household member sleeping on the upper level, they can still do some entertaining on the lower level. You might just have some difficulty maintaining consistent temperatures on each level if you are not using dual cooling units. You may also need dual vacuum cleaners and you will have more trips up and down the stairs to bring things to and from the bedrooms.
Aside from the things mentioned above, you will also have to think how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need; and if you need bonus rooms.
