Grilling Safety Tips for Las Vegas Homes Residents

It seems that summer is finally here. As homeowners across the country are getting prepared to do some outdoor
celebrations, here are some grilling safety tips for Las Vegas homes
residents to avoid careless accidents.

♦ Select a proper area. Charcoal and propane
grills should not be used indoors. Place the grill on a level surface that
cannot burn and at least 10 feet away from Las Vegas homes. Make sure that the place is free of leaves, twigs or other
flammable materials.

♦ Check before lighting. Avoid using a grill
that is more than a few years old. Before starting, check the equipment for
potential dangers like structural cracks, leaks or brittleness.

♦ Never leave your grill unattended. Wear
loose clothing and use flame resistant mitts and barbecue tools with long
handles while grilling to maintain safety while in close proximity to the
flames. Make out a visible boundary to keep children within 10 feet away from
the grill at all times. Avoid drinking alcohol within the boundary as well.

♦ Clean the grill and utensils after use.
Wait for the grill to cool off completely before cleaning. Use only
grill-approved cleaners and avoid storing a grill indoors. Always follow the
manufacturer’s instruction for cleaning and storing to guarantee safety and the
product’s durability.

♦ Always be prepared for emergency. Have a
first aid kit and a fire extinguisher or garden hose nearby as a precaution. In
case a fire breaks out, call 911. Do not pour water on a grease fire, it will
only grow larger.

By following these safety precautions, you
can ensure the safety of not only your guests, but Las Vegas homes as well.
