Gusty Winds, Low Humidity Trigger Advisories for Las Vegas Homes

Strong gusty winds, low humidity and hot temperatures
are expected to hit Las Vegas homes today. This occurrence has led the National
Weather Service to raise a Red Flag Warning for outdoor fires of Southern
Nevada and Northwest Arizona.

It is expected that winds are going to
increase by the later part of this morning. The peak in intensity will be at
the afternoon and early evening hours, and then will eventually decrease late
in the evening in Las Vegas homes.

The winds will be expected at 20 to 35 mph
gusting up to 45 to 55 mph. the strong winds can make driving difficult and
over the desert, can result to lower visibilities to well under a mile at times
of blowing sand and dust. As well as in the waters, the strong winds could also
result in high waves that will make the water hazardous.

The strong winds influenced the Clark County
Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management to issue a dust advisory
and the issue will be expected by night.

The weather service said that these strong
winds are the result of an unseasonably strong Pacific storm that is moving
across the Great Basin. In addition to that, isolated thunderstorms are possible
to occur across central Nevada.

The Las Vegas area including Las Vegas homes
will not get any rain but temperatures will cool off sometime this day.

It is expected that temperatures will rise today
for about 100 degrees but temperatures will cool off even more on Thursday that
will reach above 90 degrees as forecasters said.

The temperatures are expected to decrease to 99 degrees by early
evening around 6 p.m., and up to 92 degrees by 9 p.m. and eventually drop to 85
degrees by midnight, forecasters said.
