This tri-level mountain cabin just outside of Las Vegas has been carefully updated and reconfigured to withstand the elements in all four seasons.
In an area that gets heavy rain and lots of snow, the home now offers a heated roof with snow clips to protect the multiple decks from falling snow, a retaining wall to prevent water intrusion, weather-resistant flooring, a meticulously engineered drainage system and a custom stone trash enclosure to deter wildlife, according to the listing agency, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties. The four-bedroom home “blends cozy alpine aesthetics with mountain-smart upgrades,” according to a news release.
The 1985 house on Knotty Pine Way has been completely remodeled by the sellers, said listing agent Kennedy Weinberg, who put the home into contract after speaking with Mansion Global. It closed right before Labor Day for nearly its asking price. “It’s very modern-day mountain living. They put a lot of love into it.”
“The decks are very private because of the trees around you,” she said. “They have unobstructed mountain views.”
All three levels have both indoor and outdoor access, she said.
You walk into the middle level of the home, which holds the main living area as well as the primary bedroom suite, she said. From the front door, the mudroom is to the right.
Beyond the mudroom is a bright, open living and dining area with a wood-burning fireplace and panoramic mountain views through oversized windows, according to the listing. The remodeled kitchen features updated cabinetry, fixtures and flooring.
Sliders from the kitchen and dining area open to the deck, Weinberg said. The primary suite has dual custom closets, a full bathroom, a private entry and access to a private deck.
The top level offers two additional bedrooms, a linen closet and a full bathroom with a window overlooking sweeping mountain views, according to the listing. The lower level holds a bedroom with a private bath and an L-shaped great room with a fireplace and a deck.
Stats
The 2,931-square-foot home has four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. It sits on a 0.14-acre lot.
Amenities
Amenities include two fireplaces, a detached carport with an EV charger, multiple decks, a three-car driveway complete with a basketball hoop and unobstructed mountain views.
Neighborhood Notes
The home is in the Cathedral Rock View subdivision, Weinberg said. “It’s a very quaint community with no HOA [homeowners’ association], which is desired in this area.”
It’s a 20- to 30-minute drive to Las Vegas, she said. “You can get to Las Vegas so quickly now. You have a whole different lifestyle, but you’re so close to Las Vegas and the Strip.”
Daytime temperatures tend to be 20 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the Strip, Weinberg said.
It’s an eight-minute drive to a resort area with a hotel and dining, she said. Ski and snowboarding areas and hiking trails are also nearby.
